Game Previews
Knights of the Old Republic

Everyone knows that the Star Wars films have left a lasting mark
on the world, and everyone knows about the promotional products, which
sell out...every time they are released. But, if it wasn't for the hit
films directed by George Lucas, many of the hot "Star Wars" games,
wouldn't sell as much as they do. X Gamer reveals a game that will
redefine every game aspect that currently exists, with exceptional
standards. Lucas Arts, on February 17, 2003, will once again, chart a
path for all games to follow, and set another record, for all producers
to envy. Ladies and Gentlemen... Knights of the Old Republic:
Just taking a look at some of its screen shots, you can already imagine
the time, and effort put into making this game. This game will make its
debut release on XBOX, and then later the PC. The game's creators say
that the game will be very different from PC and XBOX. Knights of the
Old Republic (KOTOR) uses XBOX's superior graphic engine in every frame
of the game. It allows for incredible special effects, smooth gameplay,
massive interaction, and vast character build-up.
KOTOR is basically taking all the Star Wars games, and putting the person
playing the game inside the action. In this game almost everything is
customizable, including the user. It allows the player to choose themselves
their traits, weapons, etc. This allows for general praise for two reasons:
1) Who doesn't like a game in which they are the star?
2) The game will be approved by the player because they in turn take a roll
in designing it.
The question, "Which path will you choose?" applies to this game.
The game takes place before the first movie, and so every feature in it is brand
new. A great marketing strategy if you ask me... Some of the features include:
• Customizable groups - Allowing you to meet friends and ally up with them
• Mini Levels - Inside games that take place within the smaller ones, like
competing in a pod race, or performing some small side-activity.
• 10 different worlds - I would say that's pretty diverse
• And much, much more...
This is definately a must buy game for XBOX and PC users...
In fact it looks soo good it may be worth it to just buy an XBOX
along with KOTOR so you can play the game. Again it's release date
is February 17, 2003 (on Amazon).
